Greetings from sunny Guatemala.

It feels like each week that I sit down to create Thirty Second Thursday the world feels more and more strange. Like some weird dream that we’re all going to wake up from. However you choose to look at what we’re going through at the moment, it’s an interesting time to be alive.

I haven’t spoken or shared much about what’s been happening recently, because I’ve been trying to figure it out myself. I believe there are only a few people that really know what’s happening in the world right now. I’m not one of them.

What I decided to put together was my 7 Steps to navigating this isolation time.

If you’ve not got time to watch the 10 min video the steps are listed below.

Step 1: Do a pregame for this time
Step 2: Look after your body
Step 3: Exercise your mind
Step 4: Have a goal
Step 5: Practise conscious media consumption
Step 6: Stick with your routines. (Pregame, Postgame)
Step 7: Open your heart.

While I was deciding on what content to consume that was related to this I found a Tim Ferris interview with Jack Kornfield.

Jack Kornfield is a bestselling American author and teacher in the vipassana movement in American Theravada Buddhism. He trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma and India, first as a student of the Thai forest master Ajahn Chah and Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma.

Jack’s sensible approach to life, mediation and his Buddhist background felt like a breathe of fresh air among all the other COVID news available. If you’re looking for some feel good, but still relevant content I’d recommend this podcast.

Till next week!
Much love
Gareth.
